Visit siteFUJIFILM is investing almost 1.5 billion euros in expanding its cell culture facility in Hillerød, Denmark. The Milky Way project significantly increases capacity and strengthens FUJIFILM's position as a manufacturer of biological medicines.
What is being built
The expansion comprises eight bioreactors of 20,000 litres each and two downstream processing lines. That brings total capacity to 20 x 20,000 litres for medicine production. It is one of the largest investments in the Danish life sciences sector.
The challenge
FUJIFILM selected an EPC contractor for the realisation. To keep a grip on a project this large and technically complex, independent oversight on behalf of the client is indispensable.
The role of FORZ
FORZ supplies a team of Owner Engineers who supervise engineering, construction, commissioning and handover. Our specialists safeguard technical quality, progress and the fit between successive phases, so the facility is demonstrably ready for production in the end.
Why it matters
Biological medicines place high demands on the production environment. Experienced Owner Engineers make sure quality and compliance stay secured from the first engineering work through to handover. FORZ connects exactly that kind of scarce specialist to a client working to a tight schedule.
